The India vs. Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s game will be continued on reserve day.
India had batted for 24.1 overs and scored 147/2 after Pakistan captain Babar Azam had won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) added 121 runs for the first wicket and took on the Pakistan bowlers in contrast to their previous meeting in Pallekele.
However, persistent rain and a wet outfield meant that no further play was possible as both teams waited with bated breath for the officials to give them any update about the resumption of play.
However, as players from both sides were trying to pass the time, Pakistan captain Babar Azam went to the ground to check on the progress after the rain had stopped.
While coming back from the ground and walking towards the dressing room, Babar Azam was accompanied by a fan who was trying to get his attention for a selfie, but the Pakistani batter was trying to avoid him.
In a viral video on social media, as the man tried to get close to Babar for the selfie, the cricketer stopped and scolded the person for not understanding that this was not the time to ask for a selfie.
