On the eve of the clash, Pakistan announced their playing XI and made one change to the line-up that featured in the last game against India in Pallekele on Saturday (September 2).
The Men in Green replaced spin all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz with seam-bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf.
The rest of the XI was same with Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq featuring in the line-up as openers, followed by skipper Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Agha Salman and Iftikhar Ahmed.
Shadab Khan is the premier spinner in the team while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf form a formidable pace attack.
In the group stage, Pakistan registered a crushing 238-run victory over Nepal while their marquee encounter against India was abandoned due to rain and the arch-rivals had to share one point each.
