WATCH: “Main Tara Singh ban jana hain,” Sunny Deol features in promo of India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 clash

The 2023 edition of Asia Cup is all set to get underway on August 30 featuring six teams – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal.

This continental event provides a great opportunity for the Asian sides to finalize their playing combination ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

During the tournament, the high-voltage India versus Pakistan encounter will be played in Pallekele on September 2.

Promoting the much-awaited clash, Star Sports – the official broadcaster – on Saturday (August 19) released a promotional video featuring Bollywood actor Sunny Deol.

Sunny, who is known for his iconic role as Tara Singh in the movie 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Gadar 2', shared his excitement for the marquee fixture.

"India vs Pakistan match suru hone se pahle main Sunny Deol hi hota hoon. Yeh zabardast muqabala suru hotey hi 'Main Tara Singh ban jana hain' (Before the India vs Pakistan match begins, I remain Sunny Deol. As soon as this epic contest starts, 'I transform into Tara Singh')," Sunny Deol can be heard saying in the video.

He further added, "Agar Gadar machana hein iss game mein, toh aao Team India ke liye haath uthao. Men in Blue ka josh badao (If you want to create a 'gadar' (havoc) in this game, then come forward and raise your hands for Team India. Let's boost the spirit of the Men in Blue)."

India and Pakistan are slotted in Group A alongside Nepal for the Asia Cup 2023. If the arch-rivals qualify for the Super-4 stage, they will lock horns again on September 10 in Colombo while reaching the final would put them against each other for the third time in the competition on September 17.

After the Asia Cup, India and Pakistan are due to square off in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on October 14.
