With the fast-approaching Asia Cup 2023 and the subsequent ODI World Cup, the Indian team is sweating over the fitness of quite a few players.

Jasprit Bumrah is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. The ace pacer had surgery in New Zealand in March of this year. He has been out of action since September last year.

According to reports, the right-arm quick might make a comeback during the T20I tour of Ireland in August 2023.

On the other hand, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who met with a horrific car crash last December, is also in the midst of rehabilitation and there is no clarity on his comeback yet.

Having sustained a thigh injury during the IPL 2023 season, KL Rahul’s fitness is the other major concern. He underwent surgery in London last month and recently checked into the NCA to start his recovery.

Talking about Rahul’s return to action, a report published in Cricbuzz claims that the batter might not get ready for the Asia Cup.

The 2023 ODI World Cup is slated to be held in India in October-November and the Rohit Sharma-led side will need the key players to be fully fit and available for the showpiece tournament.

After the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia earlier this month, the Indian players are currently enjoying a much-needed break from the game.

Team India’s next assignment is the tour of West Indies, comprising two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is, slated to get underway on July 12.
