Mohammad Rizwan played a match-winning knock of 71 runs against India.
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan continued his sublime form with the bat in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 by playing a match-winning knock against India in the Super 4s encounter in Dubai.
Chasing 182 for victory, Rizwan took the charge of his side after Babar Azam (14) and Fakhar Zaman (15) fell cheaply and went on to play a stunning knock of 71 runs off 51 balls laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes to help Pakistan beat Team India by 5 wickets in a Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai.
However, Rizwan suffered a strain in his right leg while keeping wickets during India’s innings, and after the victory, the 30-year-old batter was immediately shifted to a hospital in Dubai on Sunday.
According to the Pakistani media, Rizwan sustained the injury while landing awkwardly on his right leg in his effort to collect a Mohammad Hasnain's delivery during India's first innings. He is now set to undergo a precautionary MRI scan on Monday (September 5).
There are also doubts over Shaheen Afridi’s availability for the T20 World Cup due to a knee injury, and now Rizwan’s injury could be a big setback for Pakistan.
However, Pakistan would certainly be hoping that Rizwan's injury is not a serious one, as Babar is already struggling for runs and they are now at a crucial juncture of the Asia Cup 2022.
