India and Pakistan finally clashed after more than 10 months as they play the second match of the Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai on August 28, 2022. India won the toss and chose to field first.

This match is important for Virat Kohli, who is playing his 100th T20I for India and is only the second Indian to this milestone after Rohit Sharma. India preferred Dinesh Karthik as the keeper over Rishabh Pant, while for Pakistan Naseem Shah made his T20I debut.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar got India a big wicket of Babar Azam upfront for 10 runs and Fakhar Zaman fell for the same personal score to Avesh Khan, again to a short ball.

Then Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan added 45 runs for the third wicket, but then Hardik Pandya stepped in and removed Iftikhar for 28 runs in 22 balls and then got rid of Rizwan, who played a quiet knock of 43 off 42 balls with 4 fours and 1 six.

Next to fall to Hardik was Khushdil Shah, who hit a short ball on the off-side to Ravindra Jadeja, helping the India all-rounder finish with 3/25 in his 4 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar did the rest finishing with 4/26, the best figures by an Indian bowler against Pakistan, as the Men in Green finished with 147  thanks to some lusty blows by Shahnawaz Dahani (16) in the end who slammed two sixes in his short stay.

Arshdeep Singh finished with 2/33, while Avesh picked one wicket as well.

The cricket fraternity lauded Indian bowlers for their performance in keeping Pakistan below 150 and reserved special praise for Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
