India batter Virat Kohli has begun his training for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 tournament which will be played in the UAE from August 27 onwards. He will be seen back in the Men in Blue colors after getting a break from the West Indies and Zimbabwe tours.

Kohli’s struggles with the bat have worsened with time as he had a horrid outing in England where he failed to make much of an impact. His highest score was 17 in the one Test, 2 T20Is, and 2 ODIs he played in England.

Kohli has played only four T20 internationals - and missed 19 - since the T20 World Cup ended in November last year, scoring 81 runs at an average of 20 and strike rate of 128.57. His form for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022 was a concern - 341 runs, average 22.73, strike rate 116 - and he scored only 1 and 11 in his most recent T20Is in England.

However, Kohli seems to be pumped up for the Asia Cup as he has gotten some much-needed break from the game to get his mind off the failures and many experts had said that issues with Kohli’s form are more mental than technical.

He recently shared a video on his Instagram story of preparing for the Asia Cup 2022 where he can be seen doing running drills in an indoor environment.
