Batter-wicketkeeper Sanju Samson failed to make the cut for the Indian squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 tournament, which was announced on August 8 by BCCI. Instead, the selectors went in with Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik as wicketkeepers for the tourney.

India also included KL Rahul in the Asia Cup 2022 squad as the vice-captain and he can keep wickets if needed. However, the fans were not happy with Sanju Samson not being named in the standby players list as well.

Apart from him, T20I regulars Ishan Kishan, and Shreyas Iyer did not find a place in the 15-member squad, but Iyer was named as a backup player.

“He can have a seat beside me as a commentator,” Ajay Jadeja not in favour of picking Dinesh Karthik for T20 World Cup

However, what the fans were more irked by was that Sanju Samson was not named in the standby players list which contained Akshar Patel and Deepak Chahar apart from Iyer.

Here is how the fans reacted to Sanju Samson’s non-selection in India’s Asia Cup 2022 squad:
