Asia Cup 2022 schedule revealed; India-Pakistan clash on August 28

Asia Cup will be played in Dubai and Sharjah and will be hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) head Jay Shah announced the schedule for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 tournament. The tournament will be played in the T20 format and will start on August 27 and the final will be played on September 11.

The venues for the Asia Cup 2022 are Dubai and Sharjah, with Dubai hosting the final. The tournament was to be hosted by Sri Lanka originally but had to be shifted to UAE due to the ongoing tumultuous economically and socially situation in the country.

The big-money clash of India and Pakistan will be played on August 28 in Dubai, with the opening match to be played between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on August 27. All the matches will begin from 7.30 pm IST onwards.

India is the defending champions of the Asia Cup as they won the ODI format tournament in UAE in 2018.

ACC president Jay Shah revealed the schedule for the same on Twitter: “The wait is finally over as the battle for Asian supremacy commences on 27th August with the all-important final on 11th September. The 15th edition of the Asia Cup will serve as ideal preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.”
