India to play 19 Tests- 10 at home and 9 overseas in WTC 2023-25.
A total of 27 series and 68 matches will be played in WTC 2023-25 league stage which is slated to end in June 2025. The forthcoming cycle is likely to follow the revamped rules as set for the previous cycle which essentially means that each Test will account for 12 points for a win, four for a draw, and six for a tie.
All nine teams of the WTC 2023-25 cycle are planned to play 6 series with 3 home and 3 away formats. Each series consists of 2 to 5 test matches. The WTC 2023-25, like previous editions, will be held across two years, with 67 matches in the group phase followed by a one-off final for the coveted mace.
New Zealand won the coveted mace in the final of the WTC 2021 defeating India, while India and Australia are clashing in the final of the WTC 2023 at the Oval.
However, for the fans of the Indian team, the most important thing is the fixtures of their favorite team which will see them playing 19 Tests in total, 10 at home and 9 overseas.
India, who are currently ranked no.1 team in Tests, will begin their WTC 2023 against the West Indies in July this year. They will play two Tests in the Caribbean apart from 3 ODIs and five T20I matches.
India will also tour South Africa for two Tests in the Freedom Trophy in December 2023-January 2024.
Apart from this, India will also travel to Australia in December 2024-January 2025 for the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, one of the primary attractions of this WTC cycle.
However, for the fans at home, India will welcome England for a series of five Test matches in January-February 2024. Then Bangladesh will visit for two Tests in September-October 2024 and then India will host New Zealand for three Tests in October-November 2024.
