Australia gained a 173-run after India posted 296 in 1st innings in reply to their 469 runs.
After posting 469 runs in the first innings, thanks to Steve Smith and Travis Head’s centuries, Australia managed to bowl out India for 296 runs, gaining a lead of 173 runs after the first innings.
For India, Ajinkya Rahane made 89 and Shardul Thakur scored 51 runs, as their 109-run partnership helped the no.1 ranked Test side stay in the game after being reduced to 71/4 at one stage.
In the second innings, Australia faced some tough time from Indian bowlers with Usman Khawaja (14), David Warner (1), Steve Smith (34), Travis Head (18), and Marnus Labuschagne (41) all falling despite getting starts.
During this melee, cameras caught Virat Kohli having some fun at the expense of Shubman Gill. While walking back to his spot in the slips, Kohli tried to low-blow Shubman Gill.
However, the young opener was alert enough that he managed to save his globes in the nick of time and managed to do a small gesture as well.
