Pakistan skipper Babar Azam put on a batting exhibition on Day 3 of the opening Test against England, slamming his eighth hundred in the longest format of the game.

Babar notched up his three-figure mark during the second session of the day and he became the seventh centurion in the ongoing Test in Rawalpindi.

The Rawalpindi Test has been a run fest for both sides. Four England batters namely Harry Brook (153), Zak Crawley (122), Ben Duckett (107) and Ollie Pope (108) smashed centuries and propelled the visitors to a mammoth 657 in the first innings.

On the other hand, Pakistan openers Abdullah Shafique (114) and Imam-ul-Haq (121) hit tons and stitched a 225-run stand for the first wicket before Babar dominated the English attack.

The Pakistan captain scored 136 before being dismissed as the hosts ended the third day on 499/7, trailing England by 158 runs.

Praising Babar Azam’s knock, former England captain Michael Vaughan tweeted: “Class act @babarazam258.. Nothing more sure of a 100 than one for him on this pitch .. across all formats the best in the world .. #PAKvsEng”

However, many netizens didn't agree with Vaughan’s “best in the world across formats” comment on Babar.
