All the cricket fans and experts across the globe were excited to watch India and New Zealand battling it out in the final of the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC), but unfortunately, the opening day of this crucial Test match was washed out without a ball being bowled.

While the fans were angry and frustrated for not getting to see two of the top-ranked teams playing, former India batsman Wasim Jaffer and veteran wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik posted hilarious memes on social media to lighten the mood.

WTC 2021 Final: Match officials to take call on reserve day on Day 5, says report

Jaffer who is popular on social media for his sarcastic Tweets went with a meme involving popular news anchor Arnab Goswami to ask Karthik who is currently in the UK about the WTC final, “The nation wants to know when will it stop raining in Southampton.

Karthik on the other hand responded with a meme from an iconic Bollywood movie ‘Hera Pheri’ in which the meme read, “Saturday ko aana haan,” suggesting the game will begin from Saturday (19 June) after rain-affected Day 1 on Friday.

ICC had already kept 23 June as a reserve day to compensate for any loss of game during the five days of a Test match. Thus, it is likely that it will be a five-day affair that will hopefully have a result.
