With the final of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) just around the corner, all the fans and pundits are excited to see the two top-ranked Test teams taking on each other and battling it out on the cricket field for the title.

Former India wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel is one of them as the southpaw talked about how the Indian skipper Virat Kohli should take time against this New Zealand bowling attack.

I think probably he will have to give himself a bit of time and try to think what he did in 2018 - where he got a number of hundreds.

So, probably he is better equipped than he was in 2014, but there will be challenges and there will be challenges of a variety of fast bowlers. The reason being -- it is not a one-dimensional fast bowling attack,” Patel said.

After a sub-par tour in 2014, where Kohli just scored 134 runs in five Tests at a poor average of 13.40, came back strongly in 2018, when the Delhi-based batsman smashed 593 runs in the five-Test series with two centuries.

Thus, even the former India opener and explosive batsman Virender Sehwag also talked about the importance of Kohli showing patience in this Test match.

I think Kohli should show patience and he should leave a lot of balls. He has to show patience and I am sure he knows that. I remember in 2014 when he didn't score runs, he came back and spent time with Sachin Tendulkar and went back (in 2018) and scored a lot of runs,Sehwag told ANI.

The final Test match between Virat Kohli-led Team India and Kane Williamson’s New Zealand at Southampton is slated to begin from 18 June.
