Team India is all set to lock horns against New Zealand in the final of the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), to be played at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton from June 18.

The Virat Kohli-led-side arrived in England on June 3 and is currently out of isolation, practicing in Southampton for the much-awaited WTC 2021 Final.

With Team India starting their preparations for the WTC final, premier off-spinner R Ashwin took to his official Instagram account and posted a video of him bowling at the Ageas Bowl during a practice session.

WTC 2021 Final: R Ashwin could be the match-winner against New Zealand, says Monty Panesar

“Back to school,” R Ashwin captioned the video.

R Ashwin has an outstanding record against the left-handers, and he is the only spinner in the history of the game to dismiss 200 left-handed batsmen and with New Zealand having multiple left-handed batsmen in their side, Ashwin would be vital to Team India’s chances in the WTC final.

The 34-year-old is also fourth in the list of India’s leading wicket-takers with 409 wickets behind Anil Kumble (619), Kapil Dev (434), and Harbhajan Singh (417).

With WTC final and five-Test series ahead, R Ashwin would be eyeing 26 wickets on the UK tour, trying to move to second place in the Test wicket-taking charts of Indian bowlers.
