New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is considered to be one of the greatest batsmen in the world and will be a vital wicket for Team India when they play the final of the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) at Southampton.

Former India player Parthiv Patel talked about what makes Williamson a great batsman. According to Patel, the Kiwi batsman is decisive in his footwork and knows how to play every ball on its merit.

What Virat Kohli is for India, we're talking for Kane Williamson for New Zealand. Someone who is very experienced, someone who knows how to play in the English conditions, he has done really well against England in England, and plus his ability to play really late. I think, especially when you are playing in England, that makes a huge difference,” Patel said.

WTC 2021 Final: Kane Williamson says it would be cool walking out for the toss with Virat Kohli

You have got to play under your eye line all the time, so to get him out, you've got to bowl really well against him. You have to make sure you are hitting the areas more often than not. The ability which he has - with correct defense and is always decisive about his footwork,” he added.

Williamson who is currently with the New Zealand team that is playing the two-match Test series against England is getting used to the English conditions which will be really helpful for him as well as his side in the WTC final against India.

Team India on the other hand, landed in the UK on June 3 and started training after completing the mandatory quarantine at Southampton.
