Indian women’s cricketer Richa Ghosh showed brilliant game awareness to run out Australian opener Beth Mooney in the one-off Test match in Mumbai on Saturday (December 23).

After conceding a massive lead of 187 runs, the visitors started their second innings decently. Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield were on course to their 50-run opening stand, but Richa’s on-field brilliance sent the former packing on 33 and ended the partnership on 49.

During the 12th over of Australia’s innings, Mooney blocked a delivery from Sneh Rana and the ball went straight at silly point. After playing the shot, the southpaw uncharacteristically stepped out of the crease and tried to get back casually.

Richa Ghosh, who was stationed at silly point, sensed the run out opportunity and hit the stumps in a blink to catch Mooney short of her crease.

Two overs later, India also claimed the wicket of Phoebe Litchfield as Australia went into the Lunch break with the score of 63/2 on Day 3 of the Test match.
