India A defeats Bangladesh by 31 runs in the final to win Women's Emerging Asia Cup; Cricket fraternity rejoices

Shreyanka Patil was Player of the Tournament, while Kanika Ahuja won Player of the Match.

India A women’s team thumped the Bangladesh A team in the final of the Emerging Asia Cup 2023 tournament by 31 runs to become victors.

The final, which was played at the Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok, Hong Kong, India A captain Shweta Sehrawat won the toss and chose to bat first. Dinesh Vrinda (36) and Kanika Ahuja (30) were the top run-getters for the side, as they posted 127/7 in 20 overs.

Besides Vrinda and Ahuja, wicketkeeper U Chetry (22) and skipper Shweta Sehrawat (13) were the other two Indian batters to reach double-digit scores.

For Bangladesh A, Nahida Akter and Sultana Khatun picked two wickets.

In response, the spin duo of Shreyanka Patil (4/13) and Mannat Kashyap (3/20) starred with the ball as Bangladesh was bundled out for 96 runs only with Nahida Akter (17) and Sobhana Mostary (16) being the top-scorers.

Kanika Ahuja also chipped in with 2/23 and was named the Player of the Match. Shreyanka Patil was named the Player of the Tournament for her 9 wickets with a best of 5/2.

The victory was wildly celebrated by the Indian team and on social media, the cricket fraternity praised the girls for their brilliant achievement on Twitter.
