England won the toss and chose to bowl in second ODI in Canterbury.
England captain Amy Jones won the toss and chose to bowl first. Lauren Bell replaced Issy Wong in England XI. For India, Sneh Rana and Meghana Singh were replaced in the XI by Renuka Singh and Dayalan Hemalatha.
Shafali Verma again failed to get a start as she was dismissed for 8 runs, while Smriti Mandhana continued her good form with 40 runs in 51 balls. Yastika Bhatia made 26 runs, but then the big partnership came between skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Harleen Deol, who added 113 runs for the fourth wicket.
Deol made 58 in 72 balls before falling to Lauren Bell. However, by then Harmanpreet Kaur had shifted into fifth gear and added 50 runs with Pooja Vastrakar, who made 18 in 16 balls. Kaur then added an unbeaten 71 runs partnership in just 24 balls with Deepti Sharma (15*) as India finished with 333/5 in 50 overs.
She finished on 143 in 111 balls with 18 fours and 4 sixes to her name and received much deserved praise from everyone. Freya Kemp went for 82 runs in her 10 overs on her ODI debut and recorded the most expensive figures by an England bowler in women's ODI cricket.
