Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami included as ICC names Women's ODI team of the Year 2021

England skipper Heather Knight has been named as the captain of ICC Women's ODI team of the year 2021.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named the Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2021. The side has three players from South Africa, two players each from India, West Indies and England, and one player from Australia and Pakistan. 

England’s Heather Knight has been named as the skipper of the ICC Women’s team of the year. She scored 423 runs this year, at an average of 42.30, including one century and three fifties. Apart from this she also took five wickets with the ball. 

Indian ODI skipper Mithali Raj also featured in the team. The right-hander scored 503 runs in 11 matches at an average of 62.87. Her tally of 503 runs also included 6 half-centuries.

Senior Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami was also named in the Women’s ODI team year. She bagged 15 wickets in 2021 at a staggering economy rate of 3.77. 

From South Africa, Lizelle Lee, who scored most WODI runs in 2021, Marizanne Kapp and Shabnim Ismail featured in the ICC’s team of the year. Alyssa Healy from Australia also got place in the eleven. 

Hayley Matthews and Anisa Mohammed are the two West Indian players that made it into the team along with Pakistan’s Fatima Sana and England’s Tammy Beaumont.
