The multi-format series between Australia Women and Indian women's teams is likely to be rescheduled due to the border restrictions along with COVID-19 lockdowns in Sydney and Melbourne.

India and Australia women's teams are set to play three One-Day Internationals, as many T20 Internationals, and a historic one-off day-night Test match at the WACA Ground with the multi-format series slated to begin with the first ODI on 19 September in Sydney before moving to Melbourne and Perth.

But the multi-format series is highly unlikely to get underway as planned as the reports suggested that Cricket Australia (CA) is currently speaking with the government regarding the India women's series and will announce changes to the schedule soon.

A cricket.co.au report stated: “But the ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as state border closures, make that unlikely. Cricket Australia is currently speaking with government authorities about how, where, and when the seven games can be played. An announcement expected shortly regarding changes to the seven-match schedule.”

Noteworthy, Indian women’s players will leave for Australia on Sunday (August 29) and they will have to undergo a two-week quarantine, according to the COVID-19 protocols in Australia, on their arrival.
