ENGW v INDW 2021: Indian Politicians react to Harleen Deol's jaw dropping catch

Harleen Deol took a stunning catch during the first T20I between India and England women.

India women's cricketer Harleen Deol's catch from the first T20I against England has gone viral. After cricket fraternity, she has left the politicians stunned as well. While fielding at long-off, Harleen pulled off a blinder on the boundary to dismiss Amy Ellen Jones.

After taking the catch with a full-stretched jump, Harleen had to throw the ball in as the momentum took her over the boundary. She quickly moved in and made a dive to complete the catch. It was an amazing effort and even opposition batter Danielle Wyatt applauded from the dugout. 

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur tweeted that the catch will be remembered for a long time. "Brilliant catch @imharleenDeol! You literally 'caught' a billion people by surprise, going to remember this one for a long long time!", he wrote.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi also praised Harleen and wrote, "Amazing! Women are just the best!".

Even National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma praised the outstanding catch on Twitter. "What an amazing catch by #HarleenDeol," Rekha tweeted.

While BJP MP Jyotiraditya Scindia termed Harleen's catch as "one of the best fielding moments", PC Mohan praised the woman cricketer for grabbing a stunner.

"This is easily one of the best fielding moments ever! Truly incredible #HarleenDeol! @BCCIWomen," Scindia tweeted.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology; and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar called the catch 'epic'. "Epic ! What an amazing catch by #HarleenDeol," Chandrasekhar tweeted.

Despite Indian bowlers picking wickets in the last few overs, England women found themselves in a comfortable position with 178/7 on the board in 20 overs. They ended up winning the match by 18 runs (D/L) after India scored only 54/3 in 8.4 overs before rain stopped the play.
