India's men cricketers sent their best wishes to the women's team, who are playing a Test match after a gap of seven years. Mithali Raj and co are facing England women's team in a one-off Test at the Bristol County Ground on Wednesday (June 16).
India women's team is playing after a break of 2401 days. They toured England in 2014 for a one-off Test and hosted South Africa for a Test the same year. The men cricketers took to Twitter to post good luck for the women cricketers before their match.
From Sachin Tendulkar, Ravindra Jadeja to Shikhar Dhawan and even former cricketer Wasim Jaffer backed the women's side to do well. The women's team will also play a day-night match in Australia later this year.
Jadeja tweeted, "Playing Test cricket for the country is always a special feeling. It feels great that we will be able to witness our women's team competing in Test cricket after seven years. I would like to wish the girls good luck in their game against England. ???????????? @BCCIWomen".
"Good luck to the @BCCIWomen for their historic Test match which begins today! Go well #TeamIndia ????????," wrote Dhawan.
Jaffer congratulated Shafali Verma, who made her Test debut and wished the whole team good luck for the much-awaited Test match.
