India women's cricket team to tour Australia in September

Cricket Australia is yet to confirm, but pacer Megan Schutt spilled the beans on visit from Indian team.

India Women’s cricket team is set to travel to Australia in September. Indian team that played only one series amid the COVID-19 pandemic, will be touring England next month for their first Test in seven years followed by a three-match ODI and T20I series.

While Cricket Australia is yet to announce the schedule, the Aussie pacer Megan Schutt hinted that India will be visiting in September.

We have got a tour against India in mid-September,” Schutt said on No Balls: The Cricket Podcast, hosted by Kate Cross and Alex Hartley.

So, there’s a couple of camps. I believe we are doing one in Darwin, which will be really cool… and then the tour against India. And then pretty much from there things get crazy with Big Bash, WNCL, Ashes, World Cup, and hopefully the Commonwealth Games,” she added.

The tour of Australia was originally planned for January this year but was postponed after the World Cup was put off to 2022 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Indian team will be leaving for the UK as the first Test against England is scheduled for June 16, followed by three-match ODI series beginning from June 27, after which the three-match T20I series to be played from July 9.
