WT20 Challenge 2020: Smriti Mandhana stars as Trailblazers beat Supernovas by 16 runs to win the tournament

Trailblazers restricted Supernovas to 102/7 after posting 118/8 on the board.

Trailblazers faced Supernovas in the final of Women’s T20 Challenge at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday (November 9).

Asked to bat first, Trailblazers posted 118/8 in 20 overs on the back of skipper Smriti Mandhana’s 68 off 49 deliveries (5 fours and 3 sixes).

Radha Yadav was the stand-out bowler for Supernovas, claiming 5 wickets by conceding only 16 runs in her 4 overs.

Chasing the target, Supernovas could only manage 102/7 in 20 overs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored with 36-ball 30 but other batters faltered under pressure.

For Trailblazers, Salma Khatun (3-18), Deepti Sharma (2-9) and Sophie Ecclestone (1-26) were the stars with the ball.

With this victory, the Mandhana-led Trailblazers clinched the third edition of the Women's T20 Challenge.
