Women’s Cricket has been badly impacted by the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic with no women’s cricket played since the grand and record ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final between Australia and India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in March 2020.
It’s been six months there has been no cricket for the women, however, England had planned a Tri-series against South Africa and India in September but it was postponed due to travel restrictions.
Well, Cricket Australia (CA) has finally brought some good news for women’s game amid the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, as the board finalized a limited-overs series with New Zealand in September.
On Saturday (August 29), CA has confirmed a limited-overs series between Australian Women and New Zealand Women with all three T20Is and three ODIs to be played at Brisbane's Allan Border Field.
The first-ever Women’s series since the COVID-19 break will start with the opening T20I on September 26 followed by 2 T20Is on September 27 and 30. The ODIs will be played on October 3, 5, and 7.
The White Ferns will arrive in Australia on 9th September and then will undergo a 14-day mandatory isolation period, while the Australian eves from the states of New South Wales and Victoria will arrive in Brisbane on 6th September and will enter bio-secure before joining the rest of the squad on 20th Sept.
