Fresh off their historic 50-over World Cup triumph, the Indian women's cricket team has landed in England to chase their maiden T20 World Cup title.

The expanded 12-team tournament is scheduled to run from June 12 to July 5, across seven premier venues in England and Wales.

The Women in Blue are placed in Group A for the marquee event alongside Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and Pakistan.

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the India squad at Women's T20 World Cup 2026, supported by star batters Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues.

Before the on-field action began, Harmanpreet put a reporter in awkward spot when asked about her retirement plans during the captains' meet presser.

Here's how the exchange unfolded:

Reporter: "Is this going to be your last World Cup?"

Harmanpreet Kaur: "Why?"

Reporter: "Just checking."

Harmanpreet Kaur: "Do you think I should stop?"

Reporter: "Not at all."

Harmanpreet Kaur: "Then why are you asking this question?"

India will kick off their campaign with a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan on June 14 at Edgbaston, followed by a clash against the Netherlands on June 17.

The Harmanpreet-led side will then face South Africa on June 21 and Bangladesh on June 25, before playing their final group game against Australia at Lord's on June 28.
