T20 World Cup 2024: Indian cricket fraternity praises India Women for 6-wicket win over Pakistan

India womenmade a good comeback in T20 World Cup 2024 tournament with a brilliant win over Pakistan women in their second Group A match that was played in Dubai on October 6, 2024.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and chose to bat first. However, the Indian bowling unit decimated the Pakistan top order. Muneeba Ali made 17, Nida Dar top-scored with 28*, Fatima Sana made 13 and Syeda Aroob Shah’s 14* helped Pakistan spot 105/8 in 20 overs.

Arundhati Reddy picked 3/19, while Shreyanka Patil took two wickets for India.

In reply, India lost Smriti Mandhana for 7 runs. Shafali Verma made 32 in 35 balls, while Jemimah Rodrigues made 23 in 28 balls as Pakistan bowlers also tied down India batters, who looked lackluster.

Harmanpreet Kaur made 29 runs but had to retire hurt in the penultimate over after hurting her neck, but it was enough for India to cross the finish line with 7 balls to spare and 6 wickets in hand.

Arundhati Reddy was named Player of the Match. India will next face Sri Lanka on Wednesday, also in Dubai.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket fraternity took to X and lauded Indian women for brilliant comeback in the T20 World Cup 2024 with a win over arch-rivals Pakistan.
