India and Australia clash in a must-win match of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the Super 8s stage. This match is being played at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia on June 24.

Mitchell Marsh, Australia's captain, won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Virat Kohli fell for a duck early on to Josh Hazlewood, but Rohit Sharma went after the Australian bowlers. Sharma completed a brilliant fifty in just 19 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes. Rishabh Pant made a quick 15 and then Suryakumar Yadav made 31 on 16 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Rohit Sharma made an exciting 92 in 41 balls with 7 fours and 8 sixes to his name. Shivam Dube (28) and Hardik Pandya (27*) did some damage in death overs as India posted 205/5 in 20 overs.

In reply, India got rid of David Warner early, but Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh added 81 runs for the second wicket in 7 overs. Marsh slammed 37 in 28 balls and was looking dangerous before an excellent catch by Akshar Patel ended his innings.

Marsh trying to swat a short ball by Kuldeep Yadav, hit the ball towards the deep square leg. Everyone thought that given the power Marsh put into the shot, it would sail over Akshar Patel who was stationed at the position.

However, Akshar Patel timed his jump to perfection and the ball stuck in his right hand and he held onto the same to complete a brilliant catch.
