Ahead of the crucial T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Pakistan, former Men in Blue cricketer Yuvraj Singh opened up about the emotions and intensity in a game with the two arch-rivals.

India and Pakistan have clashed in T20 World Cups seven times and India lead by 6-1. India’s only loss came in 2021 T20 World Cup in Dubai, when Pakistan defeated them by 10 wickets.

Yuvraj Singh, who has been part of many such encounters between India and Pakistan in the past, said that he is looking forward to the game as it will be the first time he will be watching it from the venue.

Well, it’s a game of emotion. If we win, we’ll go crazy. If we lose, we’ll go crazy. But the thing is, if we win, they will go crazy with us. If we lose, they will go crazy with us. That’s the difference. But I think, whether it’s India, Pakistan, or any other game, I’m sure the guys are going 100%. It’s just that I always feel that the team who control their emotion on that day better and focus on the match situation, they will win the game,” Yuvraj said at the opening of Fan Park at the Oculus Trade Centre in New York.

“In the last couple of years, we’ve had a better record than Pakistan. And hopefully, we can continue that. I think I would not be that nervous going into India-Pakistan game watching it. I’ve watched on TV, but never been to the ground watching an India-Pakistan match. This will be first time,” he added.

The arch-rivals are set to lock horns in a newly established facility in Nassau County with a capacity of 34,000 spectators on June 9.
