Kris Srikkanth backed Virat Kohli for T20 World Cup 2024, calls him indispensable.
Former Indian chief selector Kris Srikkanth strongly defends Virat Kohli's place in India's squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, claiming that the star batter is indispensable if the Men in Blue aim to win the trophy.
Kohli, who returned to the T20I set-up against Afghanistan in January after the 2022 T20 World Cup, showcased his intent during the series amidst doubts over his future in the format.
Well, the former Indian skipper missed the recent Test series against England for family reasons, but he is expected to make a comeback in IPL 2024, starting on March 22, with the RCB.

Kris Srikkanth said on his YouTube show: “No chance. It's not possible to be without Virat Kohli at the T20 World Cup. He is the one who took us to the semi-finals in T20 World Cup 2022. He was the Man of the Tournament. Who is saying all this? These rumour-mongers, don't they have any other job?”
He added, “What is the basis for all this chatter? If India have to win the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli is a must in the squad. You need a guy who can just stay there. India need that sheet anchor, be it T20 World Cup or ODI World Cup. Without Virat Kohli, the Indian team cannot go.”
Srikkanth signed off by saying, “We need Virat Kohli, 100 percent. I still believe Virat Kohli should be honoured like how Sachin Tendulkar was in 2011. The Indian team should win the World Cup for Virat. It will be a great thing for Virat Kohli.”
