ICC shared preparations at venue for India-Pakistan clash in upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Wednesday (March 6), shared the latest update on the progress of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, the venue for the highly anticipated ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Pakistan.
Over the last month, significant strides have been made in the construction of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to kick off on June 1 in the West Indies and the USA.
Well, New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is scheduled to host the exciting showdown between arch-rivals India and Pakistan on June 9, and it will also be the home ground for India during the group stage matches of the upcoming ICC event.
Meanwhile, the construction progress has been impressive, particularly in the East Stand, which is designed to accommodate 12,500 fans, where cranes have been busy lifting the modular framework into place.
Furthermore, groundwork has commenced on the stadium's outfield, along with the development of the north and south premium hospitality and media pavilions.
Chris Tetley, ICC Head of Events, stated: “It is extremely exciting to see the progress made in the construction of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York over the past month. Work on the outfield commenced in January and in the past few weeks the East Stand framework has really started to take shape.”
