Umran Malik scalped 6 wickets for J&K in the recent-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has suggested that Team India should think about including speedster Umran Malik in their plans for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Malik was overlooked for the upcoming India tour of South Africa, where the Men in Blue will play three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Test matches, with the tour getting underway on December 10.
Chopra questioned Umran’s sudden exclusion from the Indian team and stressed that the young pacer deserves to be in contention for the T20 World Cup in 2024.

Malik has showcased his talent by taking 11 wickets in 8 T20I matches for India, maintaining an economy of 10.49 and an average of 22.09, and Chopra believes that he could be a valuable asset for India in the mega event.
Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube Channel: “I feel he should be considered. You had kept him in the team until some time back. You had played him, it was either against the West Indies or Ireland. After that, he has been missing. You keep someone with so much love at one point and then suddenly missing, that's not good.”
He added, “Keep him in the scheme of things at least. In fact, he is not even being picked in the India A team. How can it happen that he was in the Indian team three months ag,o and now he is not even part of the India A team?”
