Hardik Pandya's blazing knock went on vein as England beat India by 10 wickets.
Hardik Pandya, the Indian all-rounder, gave the Indian team a glimmer of hope in their semi-final against England at Adelaide on November 10, thanks to a dazzling display of big hitting in the death overs.
He played a stunning knock of 63 runs off 33 balls laced with four fours and five sixes to take India to 168/6 in 20 overs, which proved to be inadequate, as the Indian bowlers failed to take a single wicket, with England winning the match by 10 wickets to storm into the final of the T20 World Cup 2022 at the MCG on November 13.
After smashing a six and a four on the fourth and fifth ball off the final over bowled by Chris Jordan, Pandya hit a back-of-a-length ball off the backfoot, and the white Kookaburra found the gap towards square leg for another boundary.
But while attempting the shot, he mistakenly hit the stumps with his boot and was out hit-wicket, and the shot that went for four didn’t count.
Hardik was clearly disappointed after being dismissed in an unusual manner and missing out on four crucial runs, but his wife Natasa Stankovic's reaction to his wicket went viral on social media.
She was in the Adelaide Oval stands and was seen heartbroken after the all-rounder lost his wicket and four runs due to his mistake against England. Natasa could not believe her eyes after her husband was hit by lightning.
