Veteran England all-rounder Moeen Ali heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav for his batting heroics in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022, saying the Indian star is an amazing player and he has taken T20 cricket to another level.

The world's number one T20I batter is currently the third-highest run-scorer in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022, with 225 runs from five matches at an average of 75 and a strike rate of 193.96.

Ahead of India vs. England semi-final clash at Adelaide Oval on November 10, Moeen said that England should be wary of Suryakumar, as it’s very difficult to find out weaknesses in him to get the better of him. He also ranked the Indian star as the best batter in the world at the moment.

“He's an amazing player, I do feel like he’s the best in the world. He's probably taken T20 cricket to another level. I think he’s the first of the players who come through where you can’t bowl at him when he’s playing well, it’s very difficult and weakness doesn’t really stick out,” Moeen Ali told reporters ahead of England's semi-final clash with India.

The England all-rounder also recalled Suryakumar Yadav’s maiden century, laced with 14 fours and six sixes at Trent Bridge. He was dismissed by the veteran spinner for 117.

Moeen signed off by saying, “He absolutely murdered me before I got him out. They still needed a lot of runs and he got them close. Thankfully he was tired when I got him out – that’s how I got him, I think. But he played amazingly well, some of the shots he played were some of the best I’ve ever seen.”
