Netherlands’ fielder Roelof Van Der Merwe took a fantastic catch of the dangerous South African batter David Miller in a crunch situation as the Oranje army shocked the Proteas in their final Group 2 match of the T20 World Cup 2022 and knocked them out of the tournament.

Netherlands thrashed South Africa by 13 runs to claim victory in their last Super 12 clash of the ongoing T20 World Cup, at Adelaide Oval on Sunday. As a result, India qualified for the semi-finals automatically thanks to their 6 points on the table and one match to go.

Put to bat first, Netherlands posted a total of 158/4 in 20.0 overs, with Colin Ackermann smashing 41 runs off 26 balls. In return, South Africa could only manage to score 145, with Brandon Glover scalping three wickets for the Netherlands.

The Netherlands also put pressure on South African batters due to their fielding and one of the highlights was former Proteas Roelof van der Merwe, who played in 2009 and 2010 T20 World Cups for South Africa, took an amazing catch to dismiss David Miller, who could have posed some danger.

In the 16th over, which was bowled by Glover, David Miller looked to pull the ball, but the delivery got some extra bounce and he ended up top-edging it. Roelof van der Merwe started running backward and took a brilliant catch to dismiss Miller for 17.
