There were not only broken hearts of Indian fans after the Men in Blue lost to South Africa despite putting up a brave fight in Perth on October 30, but there were more Pakistan fans who were in shock after the outcome.

Many Men in Green fans were praying for India to win against South Africa as it would have kept the chances of the Pakistan team qualifying for the last four alive. But with India’s 5-wicket loss to Proteas, Pakistan’s chances have taken a nose dive making it very difficult for Babar Azam and co to make it into the semis.

South Africa (5 points, 3 games) are now on top of Group 2. India (4 points from 2 games) with upcoming matches against Bangladesh (Nov 2 in Adelaide) and Zimbabwe (Nov 6 in Melbourne) are well within striking distance of a semi-final berth.

This loss also didn’t go well with Pakistani social media influencer Momin Saqib, who is famous as the “Maaro Mujhe” guy. He put up a video on Instagram, in collaboration with Indian YouTuber Gaurav Taneja (Flying Beast), along with the caption: "India lost! Time to go back home."

The match saw Suryakumar Yadav playing one of the best knocks of their career while other Indian batters succumbed to the bounce of the Perth wicket and the pace of South African pacers, he made 68 in 40 balls with 3 sixes and 6 fours to take India to 133/9 in 20 overs.

Then Arshdeep Singh bowled amazingly well in the powerplay, taking wickets of Quinton de Kock and Rilee Russouw, but the half-centuries from Aiden Markram and David Miller were enough for Proteas to win by 5 wickets.
