The Pakistan cricket team has been severally criticised by many former cricketers following their back-to-back defeats in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Notably, Pakistan suffered a heartbreaking 4-wicket defeat against arch-rivals India in their first match and then suffered an embarrassing defeat of 1 run against Zimbabwe to put their semifinal hopes in jeopardy.

Well, the veteran cricketer and former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has taken a brutal dig at the national team over the dead-ball controversy during the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 match.

He said that if the Babar Azam-led team doesn't even know that the ball is not dead when it hits the stumps on a free-hit, then talking about conditions is secondary while calling for change in the team.

Speaking on Pakistan channel A Sports, Malik said: “They don't know that the ball is not dead when it hits the stumps on a free hit, so leave other things aside. They don't even know this, so talking about which conditions you have to play in, is another matter. We just try to find short-term solutions.”

He signed off by saying, “If there is a leakage in pipe, the permanent solution is to change the pipe. But we try to bridge the gap. You need to change the pipe.”
