Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar believes that the Indian team can't afford to let their chips fall when they play Zimbabwe on November 6, in their final T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 game at the MCG.

On Thursday (October 27), the Zimbabwean team scripted history by defeating Pakistan by 1 run taking them a step closer to qualifying for the knockout stages.

The loss on Thursday was the Babar Azam-led side’s second straight after losing to India on October 23, severely hampering their chances of reaching the semis.

Gavaskar feels that the Men in Green don't have much room for error going forward and need to win their last two games by a huge margin to keep their hopes alive.

"Yes, they have got to win their remaining three matches by big margins as well and it's not going to be easy because they are playing South Africa, that's a top team as well. India also have to be very careful against South Africa.

"Now with Zimbabwe beating Pakistan, India have to be very careful against Zimbabwe as well. Zimbabwe would be buoyed by their victory over Pakistan," he was quoted as saying to India Today.

Before the Zimbabwe encounter, the Men in Blue will lock horns with South Africa on Sunday (October 30) in Perth. The Proteas are coming on the back of a landslide victory over Bangladesh.

As for Pakistan, their next encounter is against the Netherlands on Sunday at the same venue.
