Zimbabwe registered a nail-biting one-run victory over Pakistan in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 match at Perth on Thursday (October 27).

Ahead of the game, cricket fans from Zimbabwe and Pakistan engaged in a funny banter on a non-cricketing issue.

It all began when Pakistan Cricket’s official Twitter account uploaded pictures of the players training hard in the nets before the Zimbabwe clash.

Replying to that post, a Zimbabwe-based Twitter user named Ngugi Chasura wrote, "As Zimbabweans we wont forgive you...you once gave us that Fraud Pak Bean instead of Mr Bean Rowan ..we will settle the matter tomorrow just pray the rains will save you...#ZIMVSPAK."

In the follow-up post, the user added: "They gave us Pak Bean instead of Mr Bean on one of our local events called agriculture show." He also shared a picture of the fake Pakistani Mr. Bean who had visited Zimbabwe.

Amid the banter, the photos and videos of fake Mr. Bean on his Zimbabwe trip went viral on social media and former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Wasim Jaffer also took note of it.

After Pakistan’s heartbreaking defeat, Sehwag trolled the Men in Green as he quoted the Zimbabwe Twitter user’s post and wrote: “Bhai kya badla le liya teri team ne Fraud Pak Bean ka. Great revenge #ZimvPak”.

In another tweet, Sehwag uploaded the pictures of original and fake photos of Mr. Bean and captioned it as: “Pic 1 - Pakistan After 20 overs of Zimbabwe batting Pic 2- Pakistan after 20 overs of their batting. #PAKvsZIM”.

On the other hand, Jaffer posted the photo of fake Mr. Bean and wrote: “Zimbabwe beat Pakistan. And do not call this an upset. It'd be disrespectful to @ZimCricketv who've played so well and deserve all the respect and praise. Pic unrelated #PAKvZIM #T20WorldCup”.

Coming to the match, Zimbabwe posted 130/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Sean Williams was the top scorer with 31 off 28 balls.

In reply, Pakistan’s innings was restricted to 129/8. Shan Masood top scored with 38-ball 44 while Mohammad Nawaz scored 18-ball 22 in the later stage but they failed to take their team over the line.
