Virat Kohli took one-handed blinder to dismiss Pat Cummins in the warm-up match.
Apart from being a modern-era legend with the bat, Virat Kohli is also an excellent fielder, and he time and again proved that with his mind-blowing fielding. Well, Kohli’s exceptional efforts on the field yet again grabbed the headlines when he took a stunning one-handed catch at The Gabba.
Pacer Mohammad Shami was the star of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up match between Australia and India on Monday (October 17) with his three-wicket haul in the final over, as his efforts helped the Men in Blue to win the match by 6 runs at The Gabba, Brisbane.
But it was Kohli who also contributed significantly to the match, as had he not jumped to take a one-handed blinder at long-on to dismiss Pat Cummins, India would have lost the match.
When Australia needed only seven runs from the last four balls, Cummins hit a low-full toss delivery off Shami towards the boundary, and at that moment, Kohli timed his run perfectly at long on position and plucked the ball out the air in a stunning one-handed catch.
Here is the catch:
Following his jaw-dropping efforts, Australian players David Warner and Tim David were seen smiling in disbelief, while Sunil Gavaskar was heard saying in the commentary box: “He’s worth his place in the team for his fielding alone, and he’s shown that one again. Look at that catch.”
Well now, Kohli’s wife and Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma lauded her husband for his superb efforts, as the actress shared ICC’s clip of that one-handed blinder on her Instagram story.
Showering love for Kohli via her Instagram story, Anushka wrote: “beauty! One-handed screamer!”
