India pacer Mohammad Shami shared an emotional post on social media after he joined the Men in Blue squad in Brisbane ahead of their T20 World Cup 2022 opener against Pakistan on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The pacer came into India’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad as a replacement for the injured speedster Jasprit Bumrah, and the pacer proved why he was chosen ahead of Mohammed Siraj with his performance in Team India’s first official warm-up match against Australia at The Gabba on Monday (October 17).

Notably, the senior pacer has not played a T20I match for India since the T20 World Cup 2021 but managed to retain his place in the team for the South Africa series on the back of his IPL 2022 performance, but he couldn't play in the home T20Is due to COVID-19.

Well, Shami finally got the opportunity to show he still had the spark in the shortest format of the game in the warm-up match against Australia, taking three wickets while giving away only four runs in his one over to help India win by 6 runs on Monday.

Meanwhile, before the start of the Australia-India warm-up match, Shami shared a clip of him practicing with his Indian teammates, as he was crediting his hard work for the comeback.

Sharing the clip Shami captioned it by saying: “It required a lot of hard work, commitment, and dedication to be back but the journey to Australia has been thoroughly rewarding. No better feeling than to be back with #TeamIndia and my boys. Looking forward to the World Cup.”
