India and Australia clashed in their first official T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up match at the Gabba in Brisbane on October 17, 2022. The home side captain Aaron Finch won the toss and chose to bowl first.

KL Rahul (57 in 33 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (50 in 33 balls) were the top scorers for India, while Dinesh Karthik contributed 20 in 14 balls as India posted 186/7 in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma made 19, while Virat Kohli made 15 runs. For Australia, Kane Richardson took 4/30.
