Babar Azam will lead Pakistan at the T20 World Cup 2022, starting October 16.
The day turned out to be a special one for Babar as all the team captains celebrated his birthday after they addressed a joint press conference in Melbourne on the eve of the T20 World Cup.
In a video posted by the ICC on Instagram, Babar can be seen cutting the cake and he also thanked his counterparts for their kind gesture.
Pakistan will open their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against India at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23.
Last year, the Babar Azam-led Pakistan side broke the jinx of not beating India in a World Cup game in any format as they thrashed the arch-rivals by 10 wickets in Dubai.
Pakistan had topped their group in the T20 World Cup 2022, having won all their matches. However, their dream of winning the coveted title got diminished in the semi-final as Australia defeated them in a closely-fought encounter.
