India will play Pakistan in their T20 WC opener on Oct 23 at MCG.
After that, the Indian team will play two warmup matches against Australia and New Zealand before playing Pakistan in their tournament opener on October 23rd in MCG.
Four players will feature in their first-ever T20 World Cup- Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, Deepak Hooda, and Arshdeep Singh.
Arshdeep Singh said that he was extremely proud when he wore the Indian blazer during a chat on Chahal TV when the host asked him about his excitement.
He said that wearing the Indian team blazer for a group photo of the contingent before traveling to Australia for the T20 World Cup, made him extremely proud.
He said: “Apni chhati itni badi nahi hai, lekin jaise he vo blazer pehna, toh chhati grav se chaudi ho gayi thi (laughs) ap relate kr sakte ho. So, I guess bahut he khushi aur garv wala pal tha (My chest is not that broad, you can relate. But as soon as I wore the blazer, it felt like my chest was swollen with pride. It was definitely a proud moment)."
During the same interview, Deepak Hooda also said: "Jab vo blazer pehna to obviously aisa proud feel hua, magar at the same time, thode nervous bhi thai (When I wore that blazer, I felt proud but at the same time felt a bit nervous as well)."
