Veteran Australian opener David Warner showered rich praise on the explosive batter Tim David for his power-hitting, saying the talented cricketer is a "godsend" for Australian cricket team.

David, who scored 42 runs off 20 balls in the second and final T20I against the West Indies, has impressed one and all since his debut for Australia in India last month, and Warner said that it is now up to the team management to decide how to utilise him in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Notably, Australia completed a 2-0 T20I series sweep against the West Indies thanks to Warner’s Player of the Series performance with the bat at home, which is a really great sign for the hosts.

David Warner said after the match: “Now he’s in our team and our set-up, it’s a godsend. He’s an incredible player. Has some serious power, so it boosts our middle order, and to come out and play like that and with his height as well, and strength, it suits us, that’s for sure.”

He continued, “Now where does he fit in the line-up as well and what’s his role? I think coming out and playing that role there perfectly, when it was a hard wicket to start on, really opens our eyes to ‘OK, now how do we utilise that?’ You don’t get these types of players every day.”

Warner signed off by saying, “So it’s going to be good for us moving forward and hopefully there’s a spot there as well, because the selectors have got a headache now, I think.”
