Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan both made it to India squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.
Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan are two of the rising stars for Indian cricket in the fast-bowling department, and every discussion is surrounding them at the moment.
The duo made it to the India squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, starting on August 27 in the UAE, but there are high chances either of them will make it to the Australia flight for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, as the premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah will be back for the mega event.
Sharing his thoughts on the same, former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar, said that Arshdeep is a much better option than Avesh, and the left-arm pacer will certainly make it to the India squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022, starting on October 16.
Sanjay Manjrekar said on SPORTS18 show 'SPORTS OVER THE TOP': “There is actually a nice race going for that flight to Australia to get that seat in business class. You know these guys travel business class. We used to be in economy, so I say that very sort of grudgingly.”
He continued, “So, a race is going on to get those seats on business class to Australia. And that's where I think you would have to say Arshdeep Singh has overtaken Avesh Khan. Avesh Khan is slightly behind there and that is something very interesting.”
Manjrekar signed off by saying, “You know this is a real competition going on for spots. Arshdeep Singh has certainly taken a little lead over Avesh Khan because he's doing exactly what Avesh Khan's role is - to go with the new ball in the middle and in the death as well.”
