Following Australia’s win against New Zealand in the final of the T20 World Cup 2021 at Dubai, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell lauded leg-spinner Adam Zampa, saying that it has been a pleasure watching him bring all his talent on the international stage.

Australia pounded New Zealand by 8 wickets to be crowned as the champions of the T20 World Cup 2021.

One of the main reasons behind Australia’s triumph was leg-spinner Adam Zampa. The 29-year-old delivered in almost every match and put opponents under pressure in the middle overs.

Zampa ended the tournament as the second-highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets to his name to go with an economy rate of just 5.81. In the final, the leg-spinner bowled an economical spell and picked the crucial wicket of Martin Guptill ending with figures of 1/26.

Glenn Maxwell, who scored 28* runs in Australia’s win in the final, lauded Adam Zampa as a superstar in white-ball format. He added that leg-spinner bringing all his talent to the international stage has been a pleasure.

"It was perfect, I was fresh and hitting the ball really well. It was nice to be out there to hit the winning runs. Zampa has been a superstar in this format and ODIs and I had the pleasure of watching him grow into the player he is.

To watch him bring all his talent into the international stage has been a pleasure. He's also fielding well, and in the last three years as a legspinner, there haven't been any better in the world," Glenn Maxwell said at the post-match presentation.

Coming to the match, After Kane Williamson’s 85-run knock helped New Zealand post a total of 172/4 runs on the board, it seemed that the pressure of a big target would hurt Australia’s chances.

But a 92-run partnership between Mitchell Marsh and David Warner took the game away from the Black Caps as Australia chased the target with 7 balls to spare and lift their maiden T20 World Cup.
