The final of the T20 World Cup 2021 saw New Zealand taking on the Australia team in Dubai on November 14, 2021. Australia won the toss and chose to field first.

The Aaron Finch-led side was unchanged, but Tim Seifert replaced the injured Devon Conway in the New Zealand side. New Zealand struggled to gain momentum in the first 10 overs, scoring just 57 runs, losing Daryl Mitchell’s wicket for 11 runs. Martin Guptill struggled to find momentum, scoring 28 in 35 balls.

After he got out, Kane Williamson changed gears amazingly well, especially after getting a life when Josh Hazlewood dropped him off Starc who went for 60 runs in his 4 overs.

Williamson slammed 85 in 48 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes, while Glenn Phillips (18) and Jimmy Neesham (13*) also contributed.

The cricket fraternity was in awe of how Kane Williamson played a captain’s knock to propel New Zealand towards a brilliant total in the final of the tournament and praised him on Twitter.
