Scotland suffered 8-wicket loss against India on Friday.
Following Scotland’s loss against India in an ICC T20 World Cup 2021 clash in Dubai on Friday (November 5), skipper Kyle Coetzer said that his side can’t be just happy with qualifying for the Super 12s stage as they need to be brave and push themselves a bit further.
After displaying some sensational performances in the qualifiers, Scotland has failed to get a win under their belt in the Super 12s stage of the T20 World Cup 2021. They were at the receiving end of an 8-wicket thumping against Team India.
Asked to bat first, the Kyle Coetzer-led side struggled against the likes of Indian bowlers, who bowled great line and lengths to bundle out Scotland for just 85 runs.

Defending the low total, Scotland bowlers had no answers to the onslaught by Indian openers, who helped their team chase the target in just 6.3 overs.
Scotland skipper Kyle Coetzer said that it’s brilliant to see how his team managed to qualify for the Super 12s stage of the T20 World Cup. But he admitted that they cannot just be happy by merely competing in a few Super 12 games as they need to be brave and push themselves a bit further.
"For us in Cricket Scotland, it is brilliant to see how we managed to get ourselves in the Super 12 (stage) and qualify for the next World Cup, so there is plenty to look forward to. We can't be happy with just playing a few Super 12 games. We need to be brave and push that a little bit further, and we need support there," Kyle Coetzer said.
Coetzer admitted that it was a high-class execution from Team India but he’s proud of his team. He said that his side has a lot to learn and for that they need to go through the tough days.
“That was a high-class execution from India today. I am so extremely proud of the guys but we have got a lot of learning to do and we have to go through days like this," he said.

Kyle Coetzer lauded the Indian bowling, saying that they showed them how to execute different variations. He remarked that it’s always hard playing against the high-quality players for the first time.
“They (India) showed how to use the surface, they showed how to bowl, execute their yorkers, the spinners, (their) variation and plenty of mystery about some of their bowlers, so when you face guys (players) like that for the first time, which we did today, it was always going to be hard," he said.
Scotland will next face Pakistan in their T20 World Cup clash at Sharjah on Sunday (7th November).
